Generic Handling

Best Plan Pro has a lot of medications and uses for those medications (over 100,000).  Some overlap and some don’t.

So, what should you enter into BPP? SPIRIVA or SPIRIVA HANDIHALER

The Answer: Either.  You’ll get the correct answer regardless.

Why?

The Generics System – Overview

Our generic system is extremely powerful with restrictions intelligently applied.  BPP has thousands of medications and generics. We look at if medications are equivalent when determining if a restriction should be applied.  This is part of our patent pending process.

The Generics System – Example

Let’s say a carrier is restricting Abacavir and your client is on Triumeq.

Well Triumeq is made of Abacavir and other drugs (it’s a multi-drug generic).

Brand Generic
Triumeq Abacavir / Dolutegravir / Lamivudine

Best Plan Pro’s handling of multi-drug generics is intelligent and can successfully process the medications in any order.

If your client is on Triumeq and a carrier restricts any of the following:

  • Triumeq
  • Abacavir
  • Dolutegravir
  • Lamivudine
  • A combination of Abacavir & Dolutegravir
  • A combination of Dolutegravir & Lamivudine
  • A combination of Abacavir & Lamivudine

then Best Plan Pro will restrict the medication accordingly. You can also enter Abacavir / Dolutegravir / Lamivudine instead of Triumeq you’ll still get the correct result.
