Is Diabetic Neuropathy a Real Condition for Underwriting?

Please note, as of April 22, 2023 Diabetic Neuropathy/Retinopathy/Neuropathy/Glaucoma have been explicitly added into the system.  These conditions existed in the system and could have been typed at any time.

We decided it was better for the agent to add both conditions and let the system determine if Neuropathy and Diabetes overlapped in the correct way to be considered Diabetic Neuropathy (as part of our pending patent's inference technology).

Our engine's power has expanded so we feel confident that any misleading circumstances have been mitigated with our improved fact-finding.

Make sure to still add Diabetes explicitly to prevent underwriting inaccuracies.

Here was the historical information on this decision previously:

Why is Diabetic Neuropathy not listed in the conditions list, but Diabetic Coma is?

Diabetic Coma is a type of coma (a specific sub-type).  Diabetic Neuropathy is not a type of neuropathy but rather a description of 2 co-existing conditions.

For accurate underwriting, you need to add Neuropathy and Diabetes separately selecting the most accurate type of Neuropathy and Diabetes from their respective lists along with the most accurate dates.
